The study aimed to identify the mechanism of the Oversight function, the regulatory procedures, as well as to examine the most important decisions taken by Ali ibn Abi Talib (peace be upon him) regarding oversight of the functioning of markets and commercial exchange in markets and commercial sites within the Islamic state during his caliphate, which extended over the period (35–40 AH), as he represented the apex of the administrative hierarchy of the Islamic state and bore the responsibility of exercising the administrative functions necessary for managing the affairs of the state and its citizens.
